The Old Main bio

The Old Main is an indie-folk group based in New York’s Adirondack foothills. With over a decade worth of writing, traveling and live experience, The Old Main brings to life a full spectrum of tunes with topics ranging from lost love to optimism in the face of life’s all too familiar trials. Using stripped down Americana instrumentation, The Old Main brings both a big rock show energy, and introspective sincerity to every performance.

Led by SethBecker, who writes their songs, the music takes shape when the talents of Patrick Strain, Blake Propst, and Dusty Elmer shine through. The group draws inspiration from influences such as John Prine, Wilco, Neil Young, and has been compared to The Avett Brothers, Jamestown Revival, Tom Petty, and The Luminiers.

Seth and the band have shared stages all over the East Coast with Gregory Alan Isakov, Rusted Root, Delta Spirit, Enter The Haggis, Mallet Brothers, Donna The Buffalo, Christopher Paul Stelling, and Adam Ezra Group.

With catchy original music and creatively reimagined covers, they've been called everything from Folk-Rock to alt-Americana, though no label or description compares to hearing their roller coaster ride of foot stomping to atmospheric ballads  in person. Acoustic guitar, harmonica, banjo, pedal steel, upright bass, drums, and ringing vocal harmonies make up The Old Main’s raw authentic sound, and their high-energy live performances are enjoyed by all. The Old Main continues to build acclaim and expand their already strong following all over the North East.
